Inspiration
I've started to delve into the world of textile design. Needless to say, there's just a ferocious amount to learn. In getting started the main thing I'm doing is just absorbing as many visual ideas as I can cram into my head. I saw this silk at G Street Fabrics and thought it was pretty cool.

'Needles' to say. You have hit upon a fascinating subject. I informally studied it for a while. The terminology, weaves, history, materials, feel, properties, uses are endless. Much fun to learn, and if you add photography of it all to the mix, it is worth an entire photo-blog all on its own. Maybe even some extreme, magnified close-ups. I hope you don't limit yourself to pretty silks. Beauty can be found in burlap.
You were very creative with the theme for this blog. Now, you are using that to springboard to a new level.
